March 6: Thousands of people have been left homeless after a fire spread in the Rohingya refugee camp in southeastern Bangladesh. After the fire broke out on Sunday, more than 2,000 Cox’s Bazar camp shelters have been affected so far.
It is estimated that around 12,000 people who fled violence in neighboring Myanmar are now homeless.
The fire spread around 3:45 p.m. local time on Sunday, after burning a shelter made of bamboo or a tent.
The cause of the fire has not been revealed and no casualties have been reported so far.
