KATHMANDU, February 8: A meeting was held between President Devraj Ghimire and the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song. According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, during the meeting at the Speaker’s office in Singha Darbar, friendly bilateral relations, exchange of parliamentary activities and other issues were discussed.
On that occasion, President Ghimire expressed Nepal’s commitment to the ‘One China Policy’ and praised China’s support during the Covid-19 pandemic. Ghimire said China’s support for reconstruction after the Nepal earthquake was also memorable, expressing his faith that it will help open border crossings between the two countries. The Song Chinese ambassador expressed his best wishes for the success of Ghimire’s tenure.
On the occasion, the Chinese ambassador delivered a congratulatory message sent by Li Zhansu, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, to President Ghimire.
