KATHMANDU, February 4: Nominations for vice president of the National Assembly will be registered on Sunday. There is a nomination program at the New Baneshwar Parliament House from 1pm to 4pm. Dashrath Dhamala, the Deputy Speaker of the Federal Parliament, informed Ratopati that the list of candidates will be released at 4:15 pm and the election schedule will take place on February 6. Sashikala Dahal was the previous Vice President of the National Assembly and her position became vacant after her term ended.
In the election for the term of the members of the National Assembly held on June 18, 2018, Vice President Dahal won a 4-year term in the lottery. On the other hand, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, still has 1 year left in his term due to the 6-year lottery.
