Magh 1, Kathmandu. By defeating New Diamond Club, Nepal Police Club has won the women’s title in the 7th NVA Club Championship. Police won the title by remaining undefeated in the competition.
In the thrilling and competitive final held at Rakhep Covered Hall in Tripureshwar on Sunday, Police defeated New Diamond by 3-1 sets.
Police, who remained defensive until the third set, played aggressively in the next two sets. Despite losing the first set 22-25, Police won the second set 25-17 but lost the third set 25-27.
In the fourth set, despite falling behind at the beginning, Police leveled the match with an impressive 25-19 win. Police, who took the lead from the beginning in the decisive set, won the title with a 15-11 set win.
These two teams also played in the group stage. In the last match of Group A, Police defeated New Diamond by 3-2.
It is the first time in 10 years that Police have won the NVA Club Championship. Along with the title, he received a prize of Rs 4 lakh. New Diamond received a prize of Rs 2 lakh. APF, which came third, got Rs. 1 lakh.
8 women’s teams participated in the competition. The top 6 teams out of 8 will qualify for the NVA Club League.
Tribhuvan Army Club and Help Nepal Sports Club will compete for the men’s title on Sunday.
