Pakistan ISI Officers Killed: Amid economic and political crisis in Pakistan, two officers of the intelligence agency ISI have been murdered. Both the officers of Pakistani intelligence agency were murdered in Khanewal area on Wednesday. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is said to be involved in this murder. TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in a statement to the media, “A secret squad of TTP killed ISI Deputy Director Multan Naveed Sadiq along with his aide Inspector Nasir Butt on the Bismillah Highway in Khanewal district of Punjab”. Police Giving information, has also told that officers of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were shot dead outside a hotel in Punjab province.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) confirmed the killings in a statement on Wednesday. Although the department did not talk about the role of TTP in this murder. It had said that the two officers had met the suspected killer at the hotel and had a cup of tea with him. It was only after tea that the suspect Khabri shot two officers in the hotel parking lot and fled on a motorcycle. The CTD had also released the camera footage regarding the incident. Investigation has been started by registering a case on charges of murder and terrorism.
Recent blast in Islamabad
A day before the incident, Pakistan’s military officials had resolved to use full force to deal with the terrorists. The TTP also carried out a suicide bombing in the capital Islamabad in recent weeks, though it did not hit its target. Pakistani officials allege that Afghanistan is giving shelter to TTP. At the same time, the Taliban regime has denied it.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban administration in Afghanistan, said the Pakistani allegations were baseless and provocative. In August 2021, when the US-led foreign forces completed their withdrawal from the country, the Taliban had re-occupied Afghanistan.
