Protests in Siddharthnagar after a bull was tied to a truck and dragged

5 January, Butwal. Siddharth Nagar municipality of Rupandehi has been heavily criticized after a loose bull was tied to a truck and dragged away.

After the city police of Siddharthnagar municipality tied the bull to the back of a truck number LU1G 362 on Wednesday evening and dragged the bull until it was bloody, the locals raised slogans against the city chief Istiaq Ahmed Khan.

A picture of a bull being dragged to the point of bleeding has gone viral on social media.

Rashtriya Prajatantra Party Siddharth Nagar leader Ajay Gupta said that the party will issue a memorandum to the city chief to take action against those involved in the incident of brutally dragging away stray animals in the name of managing loose horses.

CPN (UML) Siddharthnagar secretary Narayan Prasad Bhandari also said that it is unbearable to drag live animals with trucks and make them gory.

Ishtiaq Khan, head of Siddharthnagar Municipality, said that the guilty employees will be punished.
