The UK has assured the Nepalese government that it will continue to help Nepal to qualify as a developing country.

In a meeting with Minister of Health and Population Padam Giri Friday, the British Ambassador to Nepal Nicola Chick said the UK government would bring new programs to Nepal to help Nepal achieve the developing country graduation target by the 2026 deadline.

He also said that his government would also finance the modernization of Bhaktapur Hospital and Paschimanchal Hospital.

During the meeting, Health Minister Giri thanked the ambassador for the support Nepal received during the time of the Covid pandemic.

He also hoped for the support of the British government for the implementation of the Nepal Health Sector Strategic Plan.
