Kathmandu- Singer Rajeshpayal Rai has been appointed as the city goodwill ambassador by Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality of home district Khotang. Rajesh Payal was born in Buipa located in ward number 14 of the same municipality. The meeting of the executive committee on 19th of Chaitra appointed the ambassador.
Mayor Tirtharaj Bhattarai said that Rajesh Payal, who is famous in the Nepali music as ‘Rai is King’, has been appointed as an ambassador for the pride, honor and self-respect of the municipality. “The singer will be active as an ambassador for the prosperity and identity of Rai Municipality,” said Mayor Bhattarai. It is hoped that the identity of Diktel Municipality will be further established by Rai’s regular visits to the country and abroad.
The meeting of the municipality has selected a 37-member think tank (a group of academics and experts), a 21-member project bank consultant, a 28-member prosperous city resource management consultant, a nine-member experienced consultant and a 19-member consultant from various disciplines. Mayor Bhattarai has informed that it has been decided to organize an international live painting program in the municipality in the presence of famous painters.
