KATHMANDU, March 16: Preparations for the vice-presidential election due to take place on Friday are complete. The head of the Election Official’s Office, Mahesh Sharma Paudyal, informed reporters that all the preparations for the elections, such as construction of the polling stations, preparation of the ballot papers, etc., are complete.
Two ballot boxes have been prepared for voting in the Lotse room of the Parliament building.
According to Paudyal, the voting will begin tomorrow at 10 am and will end at 3 pm, while the counting will begin at 4 pm and the results will be given at 7 pm.
There are a total of four candidates namely Ashta Laxmi Shakya of CPN-UML, Mamata Jha of Janamat Party and Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav and Pramila Kumari Yadav of Janata Samajbadi Party.
However, Pramila Kumari Yadav had announced the withdrawal of her candidacy through a press release in support of Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav.
In the election to be held, 332 members of the federal parliament and 550 members of the state assembly will vote. Up to 7 employees will be deployed at a vote center.
