Kathmandu, March 16
The Janata Samajbadi Party has decided to send Manju Ansari to represent a proportional representation seat in the House of Representatives.
The seat became vacant after the death of legislator Shahnaz Rahman in February. The electoral rules establish that the party must choose another person from the closed list of the same category of the proportional representation candidates presented to the Electoral Commission before the elections in case of death of a deputy elected under the proportional representation system.
As Rahman was a woman from the Muslim category, the party sent Ansari, another woman belonging to the same category.
Now, the Electoral Commission is obliged to give you a certificate to formalize your election.
