KATHMANDU, March 15: Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav” led by CPN, and CPN (Socialist Maoist) led by Karnajit Budha have united. The two parties have come together at the Nepal Academy Hall, Kathmandu.
Biplav and Karnajit, who split from the then Unified Socialist CPN, announced that they will join by uniting the party. Issuing a press release, they stated that there is a crisis in the state due to the crony capitalist power and the arbitrary rule of a parliamentary system, and that the general citizens apart from the brokers and the capitalists are living hard lives.
It has also been said that high interest rates have made people distressed and many debtors are forced to leave their homes and even commit suicide. The majority of young people are going abroad, women and workers are subjected to violence, the people’s war is being criminalized and sectors such as education, health, employment are in chaos; it says in the press release.
It has also been said that globalized US imperialism is interfering to turn Nepal into a neo-colonizer.
