The teaser of the Nepali film ‘Halkara’, which won three awards at the ‘World Fest Houston Film Festival’ held in America, has been released on Thursday. Half of the two-minute teaser of the film, which is scheduled to be screened on the 29th of Baisakh, has flowed into the narration (letter reading) of the main character Mahesh Tripathi, where the problem created by foreign employment is expressed from a new angle.
The teaser gives a glimpse of a strong visual language. Written and directed by Vikram Sapkota, the film has Mahesh Tripathi and Vinita Thapa Magar in lead roles. In the film, Mahesh plays the role of Hulaki (Ram) while Vinita plays the role of Mia. The teaser hints at the love between a postman and a woman who understands the letters of her husband living abroad, which is the main theme of the film.
In the film, along with Mahesh and Vinita, Umesh Tamang, Pashupati Rai, himself. Deepak Chhetri, Vidya Karki etc. actors are also acting. The film is jointly written by director Sapkota, Biplap Prateek and Akash Baral. Cinematography by Chintan Rajbhandari, this film is produced by Kalipar Studio and Icefall Productions. The film has also been edited by Vikram himself.
The film, which was awarded in the ‘Long Narrative’ category at the Nepal-America Film Festival in Washington DC, was also selected for other international festivals. The film will be distributed by GGA Group and DCN in Kathmandu, while outside Kathmandu, FD has taken the distribution rights. Director Sapkota informed that ‘Halkara’ was influenced by the true story.
