Juhi Chawla herself has told in an interview about rejecting the offers and roles she received in ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. Juhi had disclosed this in an interview given to Zoom. Juhi had said that she was offered a role with charisma in this film. She did not want to compete with Madhuri, so she rejected the role. In a conversation with Zoom TV, Juhi had said, “My and Madhuri’s careers started together in the 80s. Since then comparisons started happening between us”.
Juhi further says, “After Darr, Yash Chopra ji was about to make Dil To Pagal Hai. He wanted to work with Madhuri in this film. He told me to do another role. Insecurity came. Plus my ego came in between. I refused”. Nisha’s role in the film was later offered to Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar, which they also refused to do. Eventually, later this role came in Karishma’s lap. Talking about Madhuri and Juhi, they were seen together in the film ‘Gulab Gang’.
