Nepalese Congress Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka said the government formation phase will start only after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal takes the test in parliament.
Speaking to reporters in his home district of Surkhet on Wednesday, Khadka said elections for president and vice president will take place on March 9 and 17 respectively, with the government formation phase starting only after the Prime Minister Dahal take the floor test in the interim period.
“The government formation phase has not started,” he said. “The elections for president and vice president will be concluded and the government formation phase will start only after the prime minister takes the vote of confidence.”
Khadka said this is not the time to talk about joining the government or who will be ministers. On December 25, a new alliance was born due to weaknesses and was broken because it was not a natural alliance, he added.
Khadka said he is firm in his resolve never to become a minister, which he did seven years ago in Arghakhanchi.
