Ranbir Kapoor Kishore Kumar Biopic: Luv Ranjan’s production house announced the making of Dada Sourav Ganguly’s biopic in September 2021. Since then there has been no update regarding the starcast or direction of the film. However, according to some recent media reports, ‘Brahmastra’ actor Ranbir Kapoor is ready to play the role of Sourav Ganguly in this biopic. Meanwhile, Ranbir is busy promoting Aaj Luv’s film ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar’. At a promotional event in Kolkata, Ranbir confirmed that he will be working in the biopic of legendary singer-actor Kishore Kumar, not Sourav Ganguly.
Ranbir Kapoor is doing biopic of Kishore Kumar and not Saurabh
Ranbir, who arrived in Kolkata to promote his film, confirmed during a media interaction that he is working on the biopic of singer-actor Kishore Kumar. During this, Ranbir was also asked whether he is doing the biopic of cricketer Sourav Ganguly? Talking about Sourav Ganguly’s biopic, Ranbir said, “I think Dada (Sourav Ganguly) is a living legend not only in India but across the world and a biopic on him would be very special. However, I have not been offered this film. I think the makers of Luv Films are still writing the script.
Ranbir working on Kishore Kumar biopic for 11 years
Ranbir talked about being a part of Kishore Kumar’s biopic and shared, “I have been working on Kishore Kumar’s biopic since 11 years. We are writing it with Anurag Basu and I hope it will be my next biopic. But till now I have not heard anything about the biopic being made on Dada. So I do not know.”
Sourav Ganguly and Ranbir Kapoor Spot Together
At the same time, cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Ranbir Kapoor were recently spotted together at Eden Gardens. The pictures of the two together have fueled the rumors of the biopic. After playing the role of Sanjay Dutt in ‘Sanju’, fans want to see Ranbir Kapoor in another biopic.
No decision has been taken about the film yet
However, a few days ago Bombay Times had denied these rumors quoting Ganguly. He had said, “No final decision has been taken. I hope we can share something positive after the meeting. The film’s co-producer Ankur Garg had said, “Honestly there is no update to share at this point of time. The biopic will be one of the projects we will focus on post the release of our upcoming film. So, casting or anything else has not been discussed.”
As of now, it has been confirmed that Ranbir is doing the biopic of legend Kishore Kumar. Amidst all this, Ranbir is gearing up for ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar’. This film is going to be released on 8 March. In this, he has shared the screen with Shraddha Kapoor for the first time.
