Suspension of legislator Chaudhary lifted

KATHMANDU, February 22: Nagarik Unmukti Party lawmaker Arun Kumar Chaudhary’s suspension has been lifted.

Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire read a letter from the Office of the President announcing that Speaker Bidya Devi Bhandari has pardoned MP Chaudhary of his remaining prison sentence on the occasion of National Democracy Day.

With the suspension lifted, Chaudhary will now be able to participate in the HoR meeting without interruption.

Chaudhary was convicted and jailed for his role in setting a tractor on fire during a protest movement.
