Kathmandu, February 22
himal hospital in Kathmandu’s Naxal was tense on Wednesday when a family blamed doctors Medical negligence for the death of a two-year-old baby.
While the family held a press conference on Tuesday to demand compensation from the medical team led by Dr. Jayadev Yadav, today they held a demonstration that affected the regular services of the hospital except for the emergency.
They have been demanding a fair investigation of the case and action against the culprit.
Prashamsa Ghautam, the daughter of Morang resident Ganga Gautam, was taken to hospital on February 6 after coming down with a common cold and fever. The family claims that Dr. Yadav prescribed medicine to the girl without any examination, which made her weak and led to her death after a few days.
The family says they have filed complaints against the hospital and Dr. Uadav with the Nepal Medical Council, the Nepal Medical Association, the District Administration Office and the District Police Camp.
Gautam says the family will move to court for justice if necessary.
