KATHMANDU, Feb 21 – Nepal went unbeaten and won the ODI triangle series in ICC World Cup League 2 on home soil.
Nepal won the series unbeaten by defeating Scotland by 2 wickets in the last match of the series on Tuesday.
Nepal have managed to win all four matches of this series at home, and this is the first time that Nepal has won four consecutive matches in ODI cricket.
Chasing the target of 213 runs given by Scotland at the TU Cricket Ground, Nepal completed the target by losing 8 wickets in 44 overs.
Captain Rohit Kumar Paudyal scored a half century for Nepal. He bunted the ball and scored runs hitting fours and sixes.
Similarly, while Karan KC scored 31 runs, Gyanendra Malla scored 21 runs, Kushal Malla scored 17 runs and Asif Sekh scored 12 runs, but other batsmen failed to score runs in double figures.
Mark Utt took three wickets for Scotland. Similarly, Chris Grewas took two wickets.
With the victory, Nepal has played 28 games in League 2 and has scored 26 points. Nepal now need to win 5 out of 8 matches to save ODI status. Nepal will play the last triangle series at home.
Before that, Nepal will play a series with PNG and UAE in UAE.
Champions Scotland have 50 points from 36 games.
