February 6: The earthquake in Turkey has mainly affected 10 cities in the country. Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman said those cities are: Kahmanmarash, Hayte, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, Adiyaman, Sanliurfa, Malatya, Adana, Diyarbakir and Kilis.
According to initial information received after the quake, more than 170 people were killed in Turkey and neighboring Syria. According to the official, the death toll is rising rapidly.
According to Turkey’s Disaster Management Department, AFAD, 76 people have died and 440 people have been injured in the country so far due to the earthquake.
Similarly, Syrian government media, citing officials, reported that more than 100 people have been killed and more than 200 people have been injured. There are reports that many houses have collapsed in Aleppo.
According to the governor of the city of Malatya in Syria, 23 people have died from the quake so far. According to him, 42 people were injured and around 140 houses were damaged in the city. The Osmaniye city governor confirmed five deaths, while 17 deaths were reported in Sanliurfa and 6 in Diyarbakır.
