KATHMANDU, February 5 – Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra party, met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and NPC-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Sunday morning.
The meeting was held before the meetings of the Central Committee and the Parliamentary Committee of the party led by Rabbi Lamichhane.
After the Supreme Court declared Lamichhane’s Nepali citizenship illegal, Lamichhane, who was deputy prime minister and home minister, lost his parliamentary seat and is lobbying Prime Minister Dahal to reappoint him to the same position.
Lamichhane also warned Prime Minister Dahal to resign from the government if the party does not receive the Interior Ministry.
Prime Minister Dahal, for his part, has maintained that Lamichhane cannot be appointed as home minister unless his passport case is resolved.
