Birgunj, February 5
The Parsa National Park has brought a case against two members of the provincial parliaments, one from Madhesh and one from Bagmati, on the charge of deer poaching.
An investigative team filed a case at the park office in southern Nepal last week, demanding action against Madhesh Provincial Assembly Member Pramod Kumar Jayasawal, Bagmati Provincial Assembly Member Shyam Bahadur Khadka, and the former president of the Sakhuwa Prasauni Rural Municipality of Parsa, Pradeep Kumar Jayasawal, among others.
The three politicians have yet to be arrested.
On December 19, 2022, national park rangers arrested five people red-handed while hunting a deer in the Jamuniya Khola Park area.
Authorities say the case could take between 1.5 and two years to reach a conclusion.
