KATHMANDU, January 31: Police recorded the statement of Upendra Mahato, founding president of the Nepal Non-Resident Association (NRNA) regarding Prem Acharya of Ilam, who attempted self-immolation and died.
Acharya, who attempted to blow himself up outside the Federal Parliament building in New Baneshwar on Tuesday, died during treatment on Wednesday morning.
The Acharya of Ilam set himself on fire in front of the Parliament building in Baneshwar on Tuesday afternoon.
Before attempting to kill himself, Acharya shared his story through a Facebook post where he also mentioned Mahato’s name.
