BANKE, Jan 31: The condition of Ganga BK from Kohalpur Township-2, who was severely injured after her spouse allegedly set her on fire, is stable.
According to the hospital where he receives medical care after the incident, about 20 percent of his body parts, including his face and limbs, have been burned. She is receiving ICU care at Bheri Hospital.
“We are concerned if the burns cause respiratory complications,” said the hospital’s medical superintendent, Dr. Badri Chapagain. His condition is stable and the loss of his son in the fire causes mental trauma, he tells himself.
Bhanubhakta BK from Kohalpur-1 township allegedly spilled gasoline on Ganga and her son. The son succumbed to the burns while undergoing treatment.
As she said, the incident occurred when she along with her son were about to leave for her parents’ house after Bhanubhakta locked her inside the room and physically assaulted her. She said that she was very sorry to think that she could not save the child. “I wish he only hurt me, I couldn’t save my son,” she wailed.
Bhanubhakta, who migrated from Kalikot to Shaktinagar from Kohalpur-2, was involved in the carpet trade. He reported that her husband used to fight and beat her every day.
He had gone on the run after setting fire to his wife and son.
The deputy superintendent of police at the area police office, Kohalpur, Ain Bahadur Malla, said police had launched an investigation into him by taking him under control from the Indian border area.
