KATHMANDU, January 30: The Election Commission has set the date for the election of the President and Vice President. The Commission has set the date for the election of the President on Thursday 9 March and the election of the Vice President on Friday 17 March.
The Chief Election Commissioner, Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, informed that based on said decision, the Commission will announce the electoral program today. The Commission will send a written message to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of Nepal through the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal. Incumbent President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s term ends on March 12.
