Arsenal have rejected a £60million bid for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
Brighton’s position is that Caicedo is not for sale in the January transfer window – and that will not change.
Arsenal are keen on the 21-year-old as they look to sign the central midfielder. They have been searching for a deal for Caicedo in recent days and have now made a firm move for him in the final few days of the window. But Brighton rejected the offer.
A new player in midfield has been a long-term target for the Premier League leaders, but injury concerns over Mohamed Elneny have increased this.
The north London club have ample funds to bolster their squad this window, as evidenced by their failed pursuit of Mihajlo Mudric.
Arsenal, who are at the top of the Premier League, will play against Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night.
