You’ve spent years assuring us that you share our values on important issues. You have told us that you share our adversarial and antagonistic views. Join us in showing your support for transgender youth by telling CONCACAF officials that you will not make us remove our “Emerald City Supports Trans Kids” banner on the night of the CCL final. On June 24, 2022, the day Roe v. Wade was overturned, releasing a statement assuring fans that he believes in our bodies’ right to autonomy and right to choose. Your partnership with Intentionalist and the RAVE Foundation supports diverse local communities, healthy children and underserved populations.
So what happened to our shared values? Was it all lip service to taking our money?
Because now you’ve turned around and invoked ‘shared values’ with an organization that stands against many of the issues we previously agreed upon.
You bring in a sponsor who has a history Inadequate care for transgender and gender non-binary people.
You bring a sponsor who is one of the largest hospital systems in Washington but does not provide abortion services, per They filed their own documents with the state.
You bring a sponsor whose mission statement is “We are committed to serving all, especially those who are poor and vulnerable” but they were Filed by Washington State For illegally sending more than 55,000 patient accounts to collections in 2022 when patients became eligible for low-income assistance.
One thing we can all agree on is that our community needs more mental health resources, especially for children and teens. However, partnering with a faith-based organization that has a history of opposing reproductive rights and gender-affirming care does not demonstrate support for all members of this community. There are a variety of community organizations you can choose from for this initiative that all support our shared values.
You’ve told us one thing for years, and another with this sponsorship. This situation requires action, and now you need to show us what values you really hold.
