Padam Giri has been appointed as the Health and Population Minister. Today, Giri took the oath of office and secrecy at the President’s office.
Giri, who won the House of Representatives elections twice from Parbat, is a central member of CPN (UML). Arjun Prasad Joshi, an influential leader of the Nepali Congress, is the first person to become a minister from Giri district, who has lost twice consecutively in the House of Representatives elections.
Parbat has not yet been able to get a minister other than the minister of state and the assistant minister. At the beginning of Panchayat period, Ganesh Bahadur Gurung of Deurali Langdi under Modi rural municipality became the state minister in 2022 and 23 years. A few years later, former Indian Army Lal Singh Gurung of the same place became the assistant minister.
Similarly, in the year 2039, Dammar Bahadur Malla of Jaljala-4, Mallaj Majhphant became the Minister of State for Transport. After that, Kshetra Bahadur Gurung became the Assistant Minister of Transport and Dilliraj Paudel of Parvat Phalewas-6 Devisthan became the Assistant Minister of Land Reforms.
Although there were six ministers in Parbat earlier, they were limited to state ministers and assistant ministers. This time, Padam Giri from Parbat has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Health as a minister in the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Giri, who was born in 2033 in Durlung in Parbat, has studied up to master’s degree in sociology. In the year 2047, Giri Prithvi Narayan was organized as a member of the Independent Student Union in the Akhil Fifth, and became the President through the Vice President.
