Nepali Army’s ‘Unification Torch Rally’, which started walking following the path of Prithvi Narayan Shah during the unification of Nepal, has reached Kathmandu today.
The ‘Ekikaran Marg Padayatra’ which walked from Gorkha last Thursday arrived in Kathmandu at 9 am today. The team that walked from Gorkha reached Kathmandu via Bharyang Bhurung, Nuwakot and Kakani in Dhading.
Ward President Parshuram Aryal informed that the team was welcomed by Tarakeshwar Ward No. 3 Panchmane with flower garlands while coming to Kathmandu.
Sagar Thapa, a soldier of Kalidhwaj Gan Nagarjuna of the Nepalese Army, said that the rally that arrived in Kathmandu will reach Hanumandhoka today.
The soldiers participating in the rally are dressed in uniforms and weapons similar to those used by Prithvi Narayan Shah’s army. According to the Nepali Army, there is a schedule to conclude the rally by holding a special program on the statue of Prithvi Narayan Shah in the Singh Darbar complex.
