Jeremy Renner Celebrating your 52nd birthday with a message of gratitude to your medical care team. The actor continues to recover from injuries sustained in a snowplow accident.
“Thank you to the legendary medical ICU team for starting this journey,” Rainer wrote in one image shared on his Instagram story. The snapshot shows the actor in a hospital bed, surrounded by medical professionals.
The late Friday post is the third update Reiner has shared since being hospitalized. He underwent two surgeries for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after being crushed by a snow plow near his Nevada home on New Year’s Day. The Marvel star was clearing snow from a private driveway when the accident happened, his publicist previously told CNN.
Rainer also shared a short video of supporters dancing to 50 Cent’s “In The Club” to wish him a happy birthday, and he thanked them for their “birthday love.”
Several other artists also sent Rainer happy birthday wishes. “Happy birthday to the toughest guy I know,” Chris Evans wrote on his Instagram Story alongside a photo of Reiner. “Sending lots of love your way.”
Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said at a news conference Tuesday that Reiner’s SnowCat, an engine-driven machine used to remove snow, began to roll away while Reiner was not in the driver’s seat. He was injured while trying to get back into the machine, Balam said. Renner’s family members were with him when he was injured.
Authorities received a 911 call about the crash on New Year’s morning. The highway is blocked due to cold weather. Due to inclement weather, a helicopter was used to transport Rainer to the hospital.
