Mukun and Menuka’s ‘Ganpati’ on May 5

The poster of the film ‘Ganapati’, which is directed by Sabin Adhikari, has been released on Tuesday, announcing the release date of Jestha 5 next year. In the background of the poster, which depicts a male character wearing a mukundo reflecting the face of Lord Ganesha, the film’s lead actors Mukun Bhushal and Menuka Pradhan are seen in a very serious pose.

The film, which shows the difference between God in the form of faith and human beings present on earth in physical form, also stars Jayanand Lama, Kabita Neupane, Suryamala Khanal, Prakash Ghimire, Rajaram Paudel, Pushkar Gurung, Anshu Manandhar, Kalu Rana, Tika Bhakta Jirel, Devendra Bablu, Shusheel Pokharel and others. Bhushal is playing the title character in ‘Ganapati’ which is written by Adhikari himself.

Director Adhikari said that the film will portray the character of Nepali society in a real way. He said, ‘If a person becomes the God of that society at some point, our society treats that person like hell. The story of ‘Ganpati’ revolves around that.’ Although the name ‘Ganapati’ sounds religious, the director insists that no religion is opposed or propagated in the film.

The entire shooting of the film took place in Tharuwas, Bandipur Rural Municipality of Tanahun. Produced by Laxman Thapa under the banner of Abigman Films, Hari Bahadur Ghale has cinematography. Anis Adhikari has given the lyrics and music for the song, while Anis Adhikari and Devendra Bablu have the vocals. Bhushal says that the audience will get to see him in a different role in the film.
