Separate line for workers going to work abroad removed in TIA

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: A separate lane set up for workers seeking employment abroad at Tribhuvan International Airport has been removed. At the request of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, following instructions from the Ministry of the Interior, the separate line that was maintained at the airport has been eliminated.

There was a separate desk for people seeking employment abroad during immigration check for exit through TIA. After pressure from all sides, the desk was removed. Although the desks were removed, a separate line was set up for workers for immigration checks.

Danduraj Ghimire, a spokesman for the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, said organizing a separate line for workers would damage their self-esteem. On that basis, the Ministry of Labor wrote a letter to the Ministry of the Interior to remove that line. In response to this letter, the Ministry of the Interior instructed to send the workers easily and without discrimination. According to him, a separate line for immigration checks was removed on the same basis.
