Production up, box office down

Among the highest grossing films this year were Kabaddi 4, Chakkapanja 4, Jhingedau, Dui Nambari, Mahapurush, Ke Ghar Ke Dera and others. Apart from this, there was a drought in the business of other films. Anmol KC starrer Chhadke 2, which was said to be an investment of Rs 3 crore, failed miserably at the box office. More than 100 films are released every year, but hardly half a dozen films are hits. But the attraction towards filmmaking has not decreased. From 2080, the order of construction will increase further.

Nawal Khadka, president of the Film Producers Association, says that due to the increase in the investment of non-resident Nepalis in films, the order of production has also increased. Recently, it seems that the investment of NRNs in film investment has increased. More than 90 percent of the films are invested by them. Maybe this is the reason why the construction has increased,” Khadka told reporter.

Khadka says that because some films were hits, other producers may have poured in investments by making appearances. Since the corona epidemic, the year 2079 has been the most active year in terms of arithmetic at the box office.
