The third edition of Buddha Theater Festival will be held from Chaitra 13th

The third edition of Buddha Theater Festival is going to start from Chaitra 13th.

The festival, which will be conducted at the Cultural Institute in Jamal, will continue until Chaitra 17th.

It is said that the festival was organized with the aim of introducing Gautama Buddha’s philosophy and influence of Bodhisattva to the world through theater.

According to festival director Puskar Gurung, 6 plays from Nepal will be staged in the festival. In addition, the festival will also stage the dance drama ‘Chandalika’ directed by Maya Thapa.

Director Anup Baral will be awarded with a “Dobley Award” worth Rs 50,000 at the opening ceremony of the festival.

Earlier, foreign plays were also included in the festival. Director Gurung said that foreign plays were not included this year as there were no plays with good storylines.

This festival is going to be organized by Bagmati Province Government, Cultural Institute and Double Theatre.
