A three-day workshop on screenwriting and directing organized by the Film Development Board by inviting Indian film director Anupam Barve as a trainer was concluded on Sunday. 48 trainees participated in the workshop held in the hall of the board from 3rd to 5th of this Chaitra. The workshop was free. Palme Film Festival managed the workshop.

Anupam, who is also an associate professor at the former Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, expressed his happiness that he got to spend three days with some experienced and new makers. He said, ‘I have felt differently in a different environment. The stories and styles of stories that the trainees shared with me were very new to me and I also got the opportunity to learn a lot.’

Gyanendra Deuja, the director of this year’s hit film ‘Zhingedau’, also participated as a trainee. He says, ‘We makers should never miss an opportunity to learn’. Even though I was senior to the other participants, there was no difficulty in learning together. Stating that in his time there was no place and opportunity to learn in this way, he shares his experience that the workshop is suitable for learning.
