From qatar Asthma Al Thani, she reached Myagdi in the course of her expedition to Annapurna I.

The 8,091 meter high peak is the 10th highest mountain in the world and is located in the rural municipality of Annapurna-1 in the district.

The expedition of the member of the Qatari royal family is managed by Elite Trekking Company.

The Al Thani team landed in Dana of Annapurna-3 via a Simrik Air helicopter and the expedition is led by Nirmal Purja (Nimsdai) who holds a world record for successfully climbing 14 peaks above 8,000 meters in the world.

“Two members of our team will arrive from Pokhara via land route. The Qatari princess and I will stay in Dana, which is my birthplace, for two days,” says Purja, adding that the logistics of the expedition have already been transported to the annapurna base camp and the helpers of the team are preparing for the expedition.

The team hopes to complete the mission by the end of this month.

Asma Al Thani is an experienced climber, having already successfully climbed Mount Everest, Dhaulagiri, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Manaslu and Mount K2.
