KATHMANDU, February 23 – Sandeep Lamichhane, former captain of the Nepal men’s national cricket team, has filed a petition with the Supreme Court demanding that he be allowed to play international matches.

Lamichhane was previously accused of raping a minor and his case is currently under the jurisdiction of the Kathmandu District Court. Shortly after the police arrested Lamichhane, he was suspended. Subsequently, the Patan High Court delivered a verdict to release Lamichhane on bail of Rs 2,000,000.
