Former king offers collaboration with political parties

KATHMANDU, February 18: Former King Gyanendra Shah has proposed cooperation with political parties. He said that the political parties that are indispensable for democracy to save the country and the monarchy that has a long patriotic historical legacy should not delay in cooperating with mutual trust.

Issuing a greeting message on the eve of National Democracy Day, Shah said he could no longer remain silent about Nepal’s continued decline, expressing concern that peace, stability and international respect and sovereignty of the country in the long term have begun to erode in recent years. He has said: “Although the reins of state power have repeatedly been in the hands of many, or have changed, our present state system does not appear to be capable of making any profound contribution to the happiness, peace, security, and prosperity of the nation.” “.

Former King Shah expressed hope for youth participation in the recently concluded general elections and some promising results.
