Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’ only child, has died at the age of 54

LOS ANGELES – Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of rock icon Elvis Presley, died Thursday. In Southern California, his mother said.

She was 54 years old.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter, Lisa Marie, has left us,” Priscilla Presley said in a statement. “She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known.”

Presley will be laid to rest at Graceland, next to her son Benjamin Keough, who died in 2020, a representative for her daughter, actor Riley Keough, told NBC News on Friday.

“Lisa Marie’s final resting place will be at Graceland next to her beloved son Ben,” the rep said.

Lisa Marie’s Presley father, Elvis, is also buried at Graceland, the rock icon’s famous Memphis mansion and shrine.

“Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie.” According to a statement by Graceland.

“They are deeply grateful for everyone’s support, love and prayers, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

Hours before Lisa Marie Presley’s death was announced, Priscilla Presley said her daughter had been taken to the hospital.

Deputies and Los Angeles County fire crews went to a home in Calabasas late Thursday morning after they received a call of a woman not breathing, officials said.

Responders were able to find a pulse, and he was transported by ambulance, officials said.

Lisa Marie and Priscilla Presley were both at the Beverly Hilton to see Butler win the award.

“It’s my whole life,” she told the AP in 2012, speaking of her father’s influence. “It’s not something I listen to now and it’s different. I can listen closely though. I’ve always been a fan. He’s always influenced me.”

She also sang a direct musical relationship with her father, adding her voice to Elvis recordings such as “In the Ghetto” and “Don’t Cry Daddy”, a mournful song that reminded her of the early death of her mother (and Lisa Marie’s grandmother), Gladys Presley.

Elvis Presley died in August 1977. Lisa Marie was 9 years old living in her Graceland home in Memphis, Tennessee, and she said that when she kissed him goodnight, she said.

When she saw him the next day, he was face down in the bathroom.

“I know I had it [a feeling]And it happened,” she told Rolling Stone in 2003. “I had a death wish at a young age.”

Lisa Marie Presley was married four times, most famously Michael Jacksonto do as well Nicolas CageDanny Keefe and Michael Lockwood.

She had two children with Kew, actors Riley Kew and Benjamin Kew. She also had twin daughters with her Lockwood.

Benjamin Keough Died by suicide in 2020.

Presley opened up about her grief over the loss of her son, Writing in August essay that she “lives in the terrifying reality of its relentless grip since the death of my son two years ago.”

“I’ve dealt with death, grief and loss since I was 9 years old. I’ve had my fair share of people in my lifetime and somehow, I’ve made it this far,” she wrote in an essay shared with People magazine.
