A plow accidentally ran over an actor’s legs, despite a large array of safety features, causing massive blood loss, a neighbor said.

In his first post since the accident, Reiner shared a selfie from his hospital bed with the caption: “Thank you all for your kind words. I [sic] It’s too messy to type now. But I send you all love.”

What was Rainer doing when he was injured?

There are varying reports about what Rainer was actually doing before the snowplow ran over.

But, according to Sheriff Balaam’s Tuesday (Jan. 3) news conference, Rainer was a “great neighbor” and was plowing snow for the homes around him.

Then, at some point, the actor went to retrieve his own personal vehicle driven by a family member, which was stuck in the snow.

Video of Rainer being airlifted to hospital

Video footage of Rayner being airlifted to a nearby Nevada hospital has circulated on the web.

In the clip, received by TMZThe helicopter appears to have lifted off a snowy road near his Tahoe home where it crashed on Sunday (January 1).

Currently, local authorities have suspended the right to share updates on Rainer and his family about his condition.

What are the police investigating?

Police said the investigation into Rainer’s accident is ongoing.

During Sheriff Balam’s Tuesday (Jan. 3) press conference, he shared that they are doing what they normally do after any major accident.

At the moment, the PistenBully is in their possession while they analyze it to “rule out any mechanical failure” that could cause it to start rolling.

However, they do not suspect any “foul play” and believe it was just a “tragic” incident.
